Pros

A majority of my colleagues at Harman were wonderful people to work with. It was a great perk to have with the Harman product discounts. And there was always food available for something happening.

Cons

The cons would be that there was very little work-life balance because Harman purged employees every few years because they would shut down a department or division within the U.S. more work would be put on the employees that were left behind with very little resources. If there was anything to learn it was mainly self-taught because there was so much chaos.

Pros

Sinking ship after Dinesh Paliwal, A company that was a hub of industries leading talent and best in class policies for employee "WAS". Best fits: If you don't want to work and is expert in bluffing (ok with not growing technically). If you are from services and want average hike (more than services) and have a tag of HARMAN. If you have more experience and you want job stability "a place where you can just relax for rest of your life". If brand names fancy you. if you fancy words like Future of technology , Connected Car, Cockpit etc etc etc

Cons

I worked for harman for 7 years and have seen harman oh sorry "HARMAN INTERNATIONAL "India growing from 300 employee to thousands, A product company turning into services, one of the best in class company becoming worst in class. slowly and steadily from the time harman acquired symphony teleca , Harman international has started seeing downfall just because the top leadership role is in hands of Harman connected services (new name of symphony teleca ) and all good policies were removed (services leadership being services mindset). Reality check: most of the people are made fool now while joining, saying that they will be part of HARMAN which is not the reality. HARMAN international (product division)and harman connected services (symphony teleca , a company HARMAN acquire) are two different company *HCS stop making people fool You cannot call your self a product why you cannot sustain a bad year, 10 % salary deduction and poor hike forget about things such as work from home setup cost or others . Like service company you just have lots and lots of employees now with poor quality of employee and that’s the reason your customers struggle with product quality. Every one in the company even the top leadership is just trying hard saving them self with a fear to be thrown out. No free meal, so called Food Card out of your own salary component, No free transport, No free Medical Insurance. Employee discount you will have products on sale which will be cheaper on Amazon and Flipkart. When your leadership changes twice a year there is something wrong you should reflect on.
