Pros

Interesting work that's always making the headlines in the press. I feel I am making a difference and that my work is valued. Good team and location. Good pay and pension. Recommended.

Cons

As with all civil service jobs, there are less perks than if you work in the private sector.

Pros

Challenging, but fascinating policy areas.

Cons

Management either don't trust their staff, or don't support them. Incredibly closed culture. Unwillingness to test out new ideas. Silo working. Everyone too busy building their empires to actually collaborate, leading to lots of duplication of work, outdated policy advise.

Pros

Close to home. Adequate buildings.

Cons

Racism, bullying & harrassment still a mager issue.
