Pros

Had great comprehensive benefits Great, friendly staff (most were laid off due to covid) Great office in Mile-ex Remote opportunity

Cons

First, if you look at the 5-star reviews that have been surprisingly posted in the past 2 weeks one after another, you can understand how toxic this environment is. These recent positive reviews have been pretty much trying to falsify and antagonize the previous Hopper employees. If those former employees were that incompetent, why did the management wait until a global pandemic hits to let all go? That's where you need to be alerted and do your research more diligently. - There is a big disconnect between departments and unless you are in the high-level positions, don't expect to grow or wait for the leadership to look out for you. - Employees here are quite dispensable, and if you don't comply with the favoritism, you might be shown the door. - They gradually deflated the employee benefits under the name of budget cuts due to covid, but they keep announcing capital investments.

Pros

The company is doing great due to some really amazing people working at Hopper. They have poured everything they have into their work, specially given the uncertainty of the industry last year, and despite the demoralizing attitude of the CEO and some of the senior leadership team. There are some great teams with really great managers, but it is like rolling the dice getting to join one of exceptional teams. Flexible remote work policy truly is a great perk and one that is properly implemented.

Cons

Unfortunately there's no transparency at Hopper, and no clear performance framework in place. For previous reviews that mentioned that incompetent people were let go last year, this is truly incorrect, many top performers and hard workers were let go mostly due to their departments not deemed as essential, which is understandable, but no need to lie about their competency to make the company look good. It is also true that not all that were let go were shining stars, but it is troublesome to say that talking about the anxiety one feels after watching their colleagues get fired, or speaking out against burnout after the year everyone has had, equals "creating drama". Pay close attention to employee reviews that mention "this is not a 9 to 5 job" or that "this is a place where you have to set your own boundaries because nobody will for you". This is code for no work-life balance. Sure you can set your own boundaries, but your manager will continue adding to your plate without regard for those boundaries and you will be viewed as someone who is not a team player if you stand up for yourself. Company is having trouble finding and retaining talent due to the work culture, and so you will notice the influx of positive reviews as a tactic to distract from all the negative ones. Everything must be taken with a grain of salt (negative and positive reviews).
