Pros

- Complete autonomy and ownership over my role. I wake up every day knowing that I'm making a huge impact on my business unit. - Part of a company that is truly disrupting the travel and accommodation industry and competing with the travel giants - Small teams (8-12 people) - High visibility from company leadership - No bureaucratic red tape - Extremely data driven and results driven - Daily opportunities for personal and professional growth - Focused CEO and hands on leadership - Leadership of the company is deeply involved in the hiring process - Quarterly bonus pay structure on top of generous base salary - Unlimited PTO - Work from anywhere - WeWork Global Access Pass

Cons

These are not things I personally dislike, but some people may not be fit for this kind of work style: - Some people may not like working completely remote (I happen to love it) - Minimal mentoring - truly a start up feel where you have to learn quickly from your own mistakes, which I happen to really like and can be a massive opportunity for growth - Because we are results driven, it doesn't matter how many hours you put in, which can be good if you are an efficient worker and can produce results, but if you're not you may find yourself working "overtime" to meet your KPIs - Hopper does offer a 401(k) plan, but they do not match contributions

Pros

You get to work with some really amazing people. Because it is still a start-up, there are lots of opportunities to grow. The overall aim of the company is really great, it's a product that is easy to see the values in.

Cons

Management was a bit messy, seemed like no one really knew what to do and how to handle employees on a human level.

One of the best decisions I've ever made

Pros

I've been at Hopper for over three years and absolutely love it. There's a really high bar here when it comes to hiring because everyone that works here is exceptionally talented. It's a super collaborative environment so I've learned a ton just from working with other departments and teams. You forge deep relationships and friendships with colleagues because people tend to stick around for the long haul. I left my last job because it had a lot of hierarchy and micromanaging. Hopper is the complete opposite. The company really embraces autonomy and there's tremendous growth opportunities if you are willing to take ownership and drive real business impact. Being a high growth startup, projects and priorities can change so if you're someone who needs a lot of structure and stability then it may not be the best fit for you. It's awesome to work on a product that users really love! I have complete faith in the leadership team and the company's sales and revenues are up over 100%+ YoY. Things are moving fast, but it's a really exciting time to be at Hopper!

Cons

You must be willing to embrace the challenges that come with scaling a company that is in high growth mode.
