Pros

free food, game room, casual dress code. Most people who work there really believe in the product.

Cons

Zero on boarding. Have to learn as you go, then you get scolded for making mistakes. Incredible micro management, (having to copy your boss on most of your emails, getting scolded for making a decision before checking with your boss) too many people promoted to manager roles with no management experience or training, just massive egos. High turn over in some teams that just seems to keep happening and happening. (look on linkedin to see how many people lasted at indeed less than a year) – for some reason none of the top management asks “why the high turnover on certain teams?” With the Recruit acquisition, a lot of people are just cruising until they vest, cash out, and leave. Penny pinchers – when you travel, you have to share a hotel room, good luck getting a Mac for work Public ridicule – myself and my teammates were scolded publicly for every little mistake. Completely humiliating. If you leave the office before 6 pm you get called out for leaving early. Lack of professionalism – A lot of back stabbing and talking about people behind their backs. Zero professional growth opportunities, managers are bosses, not leaders. They don’t lead, inspire, or teach anything to their teams. Miserable place to work, I would not even recommend my enemies to work here.

Pros

Work-Life Balance - Firm 8 hour work day without pressure to work outside of hours Career Growth (before the hiring freeze and layoffs at least) Co-workers are amazing and supportive of each other Benefits and perks are top notch Hybrid work for sales and cs is a nice balance (2 days in, 3 days at home)

Cons

Aimless direction from Senior Leadership and bad product rollouts over the past 3 years have caused Indeed to rapidly lose business. Indeed did not properly prepare for what it should have seen coming and as a result over hired in a big way. Senior Leadership has made bad decision after bad decision and lays off 2200 people instead of anyone stepping down or being let go at the top levels of the company. Clients will only stick around so long after being let down or mislead several times in a few years.

Pros

Open PTO, colleagues, downtown office.

Cons

Most people join Sales knowing the amount of effort they put into the role will be equal to the amount they get back. This is absolutely not the case within the sales org at indeed. At this point, the ability to achieve 100% of your quarterly quota truly comes down to the luck of the draw based on what segment you're in. Example: Activation teams are consistently coming into the quarter (with new books of business) pacing aggressively above their quotas; meaning they could take PTO for 50%+ of the quarter and still blow their numbers out without lifting a finger. In contrast, there are other teams with closed books of business that approach each quarter with $200k+ gaps. This is an unattainable target and a slap in the face to anyone who is consistently putting in the work to hit their goals and yet still come out making significantly less than their colleagues; despite being told this is a "level playing field". In no way can this be considered a level playing field. When addressing this with Senior Leadership in quarterly Q&As, the response is always consistent with the tangible disconnect between C-Level Executives and the actual sales roles/processes. The biggest ask here is for a level playing field and a fair chance to hit 100% of the assigned quarterly goals. Until this is achieved, the turnover and burnout amongst the most talented and tenured reps will only continue to spiral.
