Pros

- Fresher initial training is world class - especially in Java @ Infosys Mysore for first 4 months as Systems Engineer - Trainee - Beautiful big campuses (Development Centers) throughout India - Good Caterers - Dominos, Subway, CCDs, are on Campus (Subsidized) - Excellent to bogus projects - depends on luck - Infosys has all types - Chilled company - Pune campus has cricket ground, TT, Lawn Tennis, Basket Ball, Gymnasium (INR 500/month), Medical Centres (Consultation free of cost), Night Stay Dorm Rooms (free), Excellent 3* ECC Rooms (with AC, TV - free if had to stay in night due to production release, else INR 990/-) - Free Tea/Coffee throughout year - Vending Machines in each building - Food available 24 Hrs (CCD and one food court open 24 Hrs)

Cons

- Salary During Traning - INR 13,500 approx per month in hand (Training for 4 months @ Mysore DC) - Salary after training (for next one year) - INR 23,000 per month in hand - as Systems Engineer - after training complete 1 year as Systems Engineer - best hike - Salary revised to Rs. 30,000 approx per month in hand (Total exp = 4 months of training + 1 year as Systems Engineer) - Progress to Senior Systems Engineer in next coming quarter - No increment in salary!!! - Thereafter only increment is yearly hike (5-8%) depends on performance and politics of manager - your luck - best time to switch - Some managers are cool and understanding while others only believe in politics, will do anything to try their luck to go on site. - The US on-site is very minimum and now there is rule for US onsite that below 4 years experience, one is not eligible for onsite opportunity. - Lucky if you get onsite opportunity before 4 years'of experience - Sometimes they will send a fresher on-site if there is requirement and keep 4-5 years' experienced guy waiting - they tell you next quarter, next quarter - Once people go onsite, they never call - no rotation policy - they save new Visa cost - Lots of support work - some units have pathetic work - They train you in X in Mysore training and give you to build Y - You cannot refuse a support project even though you have been engaged in development - If you by chance get into a suppport project, you will never get a chance to come to development, they never care anyone's career - I have seen High performer Java trained at Mysore DC crying before Manager to take him out of support project after wasting his first two years.

Pros

If you are too lucky to get a good project, you might get an onsite opportunity. No other Pros.

Cons

Before joining ,company policy says 9 days work from home. But the interior picture is never revealed. For working from home, you must be able to connect which is very difficult using personal laptop. And its funny/annoying that Infosys doesn't afford to provide Laptops. People sometimes wait for more than an year for a laptop .They hire the resources but they don't have enough projects, don't have enough systems/laptops , even they don't have seat availability. People who are here since more than 10 years, they have setup their kingdom and they totally don't listen to what problems a subordinate is going through.
