Promotion from level 1 to level 2 takes like 2 years. From level 2 to 3 takes like 5 more years. Then expect no more promotion. You don't use anything you learned in school. Same boring mundane tasks. PAR reviews are a joke. There is a competition to see who can work the most overtime. A good-ol-boy military conservative baby-boomers culture that doesn't fit with younger generations. No excitement in your work. A monkey can probably do your job. People don't talk to you. No social life.

Lockheed's immense size means that it relies on bureaucracy and process to control its direction. The weight of the corporate culture and inertia can seem stifling, and things move at the pace of molasses.
