Pros

Some great co-workers and colleagues. Some really good teams. An amazing mission and contribution to the world.

Cons

Lack of real leadership at the top. Employees come last and are expendable. Senior Leadership's stance seems to be that we're all stealing from them and the only real people needed at the company are them.

Pros

Good name on resume if you want to stay in med device field. That's pretty much it

Cons

This is a company that encouraged fake DEI . To begin with, their PTO is actually 3 days less than listed because you have to use 3 days in year end shutdown. Further more, they don't provide sick days like other companies do. You use your own PTO. Then they had "global " teams. So guess what happen when everyone needs to get together for meetings? Morning time is gone. If you are like me, mostly likely you dial into meetings and prepare kids for school at the same time ( imagine your anxiety level when your kids spill milk all over the floor while you are asked to give update in front of your team at the same ) It doesn't end there. Now because this DEI, women, colored people are all expected to participate in ERGs or DEI recruiting efforts. So outside of working hours, I need to travel during weekends to support these activities. Whenever I escalate this to management, it's just got shrugged off. Of course, the DEI KPIs are just numbers linked to their year end bonus so as long as they deliver the numbers, they don't care! I would really suggest that MDT runs a report and see how many female engineers they have in different age groups and how long those women can stay survived in their jobs without leaving or change functions. The answer will be clear

Pros

Good work life balance and endless opportunities. Recommend for early career and figuring out what you want to do. Good place to learn/build up resume.

Cons

Hard to gain real responsibility. Large company like this so focused on maximizing efficiency and having people specialize/work in silos. Easy to fall into trap and very hard to find opportunities needed to really advance in your career. They are also super cheap. Wont send you to conferences or other growth opportunities that cost money unless it is something related to minorities/diversity. Lastly, they don’t do any true innovation, just buy technology and then scale them up. Many people have spent whole career at Medtronic and are brainwashed to think that Medtronic rules are also how the rest of the industry operates. Had go through trainings on how to interact with physicians before going to hands on demos to get feedback on my project. My last company, I met traveled the country to meet with physicians straight out of college. They are just people…
