Pros

Plenty of options to develop yourself, to learn and meet new people, there is a nice and relaxed work environment with a lot of autonomy to work the way you like, capable management who is enabling and kind and it's never boring :)

Cons

Maybe "too relaxed" environment for someone who like a very structured and defined way of working. It's a big company with offices on multiple locations which can make it hard to know who to reach out to, talk to, go to.

Thanks for the review and taking the time to write! 100% agree with you, it's certainly never boring in Facebook , at least from my perspective, and the pace of change is incredible on a daily basis! Thanks for your call out on the autonomy you get while working here, which we work hard to enshrine in our culture, and also for calling out the options for personal development in which we've invested heavily in to allow people the chance to really skill up on a wide variety of skills while here. We've a lot to improve and we'll keep focusing on how we can improve the employee experience. Sincerely, Declan

Pros

Facebook in general is a great company to work for. All the amazing perks you read about in all the other reviews, leadership does give off the impression that they care about their employees. Everyone is very smart and in most cases people are enthusiastic about collaborating and conversing about new ideas. You will learn a lot very quickly and often be inspired by the ideas and leadership of others.

Cons

Outside of Facebook probably being responsible for destroying the moral fabric of society, Your experience at Facebook is highly dependent on your manager and team. That said, stay away from Research Operations. I have never seen such poor, uninspiring, thoughtless leadership in my career. Multiple ICs have had to take extended leave because they could not take the abuse from management and were broken down to the point where they felt they had no value. Managers are reported to HR repeatedly, without any action taken. Leadership on that team would rather defend managers to the death than support an IC. There are at least two similar reviews on Glassdoor about this team.

Pros

Working with incredibly smart, talented folks every day is great. Everyone is kind, inclusive, and helpful. Things get done fast, and people are always learning more and experimenting to find the best way to get things done

Cons

Global hours; taking calls in the evening isn't fun, but we flex our time around, and take time when needed. It's surprisingly flexible
