Pros

- Really intelligent people to work with, you learn a lot - Generally very friendly environment - Lovely offices - Reasonable pay - Flexible working

Cons

The environment and culture seems to have deteriorated over the past year or so. Can't quite put my finger on it but there have been a lot of changes and no real benefit can be seem from these changes. Some (emphasis on some) senior managers are truly awful, they can be nice one minute and completely hell the next so you just don't know when/how to approach them. This is a real shame because it has caused the organisation to lose its shine. Pay increase = next to nothing Lack of clarity over the work we actually have available. You're not allowed to network to get onto projects - this is "forbidden" so you are left waiting for Resourcing team to contact you when something comes up....whenever that may be. It generally ends up being "can you tidy up some slides" types of requests.

Pros

Dimension Data was once a great company with a global USP in its market, intelligent and motivated staff (and maybe as part of the NTT merge it could be again) however....

Cons

Unfortunately the policy (particularly that of the European management team) has been one of lack of investment in key areas which has resulted in the existing company becoming a top heavy, slow to adapt, process dominated mess. Process is king to the detriment of common sense, customer service or staff motivation The company culture has become "computer says no" and communication via email (worse still a collection of undecipherable email boxes) Lack of training, lack of investment in the business, lack of knowledge of the industry and probably poor salaries means the back office teams have no real interest in the success of the business...which reflects in terms of what the customers see (or often don't) in terms of service The internal systems are not suitable for the company: support and renewal quotes don't make any sense (and the people providing them only understand numbers on screens, not what any of it actually means). There is no clear CRM package that ties customers, orders, quotes, etc together which in the age of making use of big data is almost criminal The majority of the better staff have left (there are still some good people there) and the motivation of the company is through the floor (and no, this isn't because the company is going through a change...its because they havent changed with the times over the years before) The group levels (europe and global) are top heavy and don't interface well with the local teams. Group management spent a fortune relocating to London and for the UK kick off meetings still send video messages...make an effort! As for the European management....

NTT DATA Response

I’m sorry to hear this feedback. We do continue to invest in our business with office refurbishment programmes, in our people with training with extensive online and in person training programmes as well as market leading global personal development programmes. We have and do invest in our systems with many enhancements planned for the coming 12 months. With regards to the Kick-Off, a video message was used as the Group CEO was unable to attend, and this was shared at every Kick-Off to ensure everyone in Europe could hear his message. The Group Executive team was represented by the Group CMO who also presented to the UK&I team that day. Steve Warner – People & Culture Director UK&I

Pros

Great people, with a good culture in the main across the global business

Cons

No career development, non-competitive salary and a complete lack of leadership within the UKI and Europe. A lot of talk of transformation, but ultimately the business retreats to what they know, which is Cisco tin-shifting. No attempt to retain key talent - despite being told what is wrong and how it can be fixed, many promises made, but words are ultimately cheap. No true delivery capability - for a SI, far too much use of contractors or partners to deliver, with no retainment of IP.
