Pros

Work from home. Helpful staff.

Cons

Pay. Everyone is paid the same way whether you've worked 2 or 20 years as a transcriptionist. The pay system is flawed. One mistake can take $100 off your paycheck for a week, yet they dock your pay if you leave a blank, and pay you more for producing more lines, which I think leads to more mistakes. It just seems they don't really care about the transcriptionists and will do anything to not have to pay a livable wage. Also, very little work to be had.

Pros

Pay was on-time, plenty of work in my region.

Cons

A month out from the big Sept 12 layoff, and 3 weeks into my new position with a different company, I see now what everyone meant. There is not enough support for the MLS -- the work horses in the transcription sector of company. Instead of using that unbelievable grid, which I was able to succeed in reaching many times, and then to be docked for an error and lose $100+ on a paycheck. That is a really a sad, sorry practice. Very bad business. I feel it is unethical. I'm not alone. I gave 7 years of my life to this company and felt like a complete piece of trash when I was laid off. I tried SO hard to be perfect. What was even worse was seeing all my coworkers still IM/chatting and working, complaining about having to buckle down and do the portion of the laid-off employees' work.

Pros

Everyone with whom I've come in contact has been extremely nice and professional. I've yet to have a conflict with a co-worker. Disagreements, sure, but no conflicts like I have at other companies where people were negative and backstabbing. The projects are very interesting and it's great to be at a company in a hot technology space.

Cons

Rather behind technologically. Laptops and IT infrastructure should be cutting edge, but we're years behind - the recent cyber attack lit the fuse to make significant updates, but it's coming very late and we have a long way to go. For example, laptops are not current hardware and most still run Windows 7. As other reviewers have said, this is a geographically distributed company. You will likely work will very few people on site. If you work at a remote office, outside the Burlington HQ, or from home, you need to strongly consider if you can work that way - it's not for everyone.
