Pros

- Get to work with great people - Great benefits - Cool working environments - Lots of opportunities - Promotion of work life balance - Volunteer Time Off

Cons

- Entirely too political all around. This is not always true everywhere but in IT it's a serious issue - Remote offices do not get or are shown respect from peers in San Fran. This is a very common problem expressed by almost all remote employees and recognized as a problem - Unnecessary stress and unfair treatment of employees - Retaliation is very real and people are constantly put down for speaking up because leadership is looking out for themselves - HR shows little to no interest in resolving issues and if there is an issue with leadership don't expect anything to be done - The "Ohana" culture is not true for everyone or everywhere - Leadership puts more of a focus and accountability on extracurricular activities rather then actual work - Individuals that work hard and do good work are the ones that are punished the most - Leadership that will put themselves and their needs first and foremost I've have had several issues with dishonest leadership, retaliation, and . I have gone to ES/ HR for help with a response with someone not wanting to do their job. I provided lots of proof, examples, and documentation displaying that my leadership/ management has been completely dishonest and mis-representing events but this was a total waste of time. This just resulted in further retaliation and has been me in a far worse spot then ever. I now have management who have been justified to make up the rules as they go along. I've been outspoken of issues and my unhappiness with no results. I just have someone I report to that claims they did everything they could when in reality they did absolutely nothing. Full discloser this is not common in most orgs/ groups around the company however, this is still a serious issue throughout. It's sad and demoralizing to work in a company that does not hold leadership accountable and allows them to do whatever they want. My group is by far has more unnecessary political conflicts with business partners then any group I've come across. I've worked very hard and have a lot of support from peers, co-workers, business partners, but yet I have leadership that acts dishonestly, is completely mis-leading, and retaliates for anyone that acts honest. It's sad that I'm the third person in my position on my team that has gone through hell and that has either left or to the verge of leading the company. It's even more sad when ES/ HR does not seem to care and their response is to notify you that's perfectly expectable to do so. It's incredible sad that my experience at with this company has been overall bad. I've had terrible jobs but have never been treated this poorly at any of them. It's sad that it's at a company like Salesforce.

Pros

Salary and benefits are good although promised training may not materialise or refuse to hire enough staff to cover for training leave

Cons

Long shifts without breaks due to low staff numbers. Constant bombardment of incidents with a mountain of beaurocratic tasks to wrap up incidents. Promises of higher level experience never materialise. Having to compete with fellow staff to get leave. Management blame staff for refusal to keep up with workload even though refuse to hire more as well refuse to allow use of higher level skills to automate tasks. Management expect staff to be personal secretary and dig up information for their own reports. Management constantly shouting and over all culture of bullying. Management expect training of systems to be an "extra curricular" activity on top of long shifts with no breaks. Not allowed so much as a bathroom break without telling someone.

Pros

Very competitive salaries, good benefits and perks, pleasant office spaces

Cons

Where do I start? In 20 years of being in the workforce, I've never worked in such an unsupportive, demoralizing, cutthroat environment. I compare working at salesforce to being a member of Congress. In other words, you're not expected or encouraged to perform your job to the best of your ability; rather, you're expected and encouraged to be constantly campaigning for your next position by contributing to only high-profile projects that get the attention of the higher-ups...and then tooting your own horn at every opportunity. Thus, you have a lot of people jockeying to be part of the "prestige" projects while the nitty-gritty yet necessary work gets ignored. And as with politics, there's very little trust and rapport among employees. I always theorized that many salesforce employees suspect that their titles and salaries are disproportionately elevated in relation to their skills and experience and therefore engage in a lot of "smoke and mirror" tactics to keep from being exposed: taking credit when they shouldn't, not taking responsibility when they should, and throwing anyone and everyone under the bus at the slightest provocation. In recent months, there's been an ongoing campaign to "trim the ranks," so they've been covertly laying people off under the guise of "eliminating positions." Not surprisingly, they've also been losing a lot of their most valued employees, who witnessed their colleagues mysteriously disappearing and, sensing an unstable and inhospitable work environment, decided to leave on their own accord. I also hear that morale is at an all-time low. Shocker.
