Pros

pay and benefits are the only good items, but given that the required hours are 55+, the pay doesn't really pan out as a benefit

Cons

tyrannical management, very long hours, disdain towards non-Koreans, high pressure environment, constantly on call, thinking out of the box is frowned upon, pretending to love everything about the company is strongly encouraged

Pros

- Pay visibly higher than industry average - Benefits: Car allowance, car scheme, bonus, pension and so on - Good food in cafeteria - Beautiful office and surroundings, not being in central London - To have the opportunity to work in big projects

Cons

- Work/life balance not good - Korean culture has become very dominant in the company, non-Korean colleagues have limited to none influence and decision making - Very political when you climb higher up, many things are decided by the CEO and comes top-down - Lot of reporting instead of doing the actual job - When you are not very Junior, zero career-path and improvement opportunity, no trainings

Outdated company

Pros

- Benefits are great. You get huge bonuses on leave encashments and performance ratings.

Cons

- Outdated performance review process. Grading system is absurd. - Outdated software development lifecycle. We can’t modernise with an efficient scrum methodology as our Korean bosses use waterfall. - Outdated culture where people will have to address their seniors with Mr. and Ms. - Outdated tools. Some work tools are only accessible via Internet Explorer, and the UIs are reminiscent of early 20’s UI. - Poor-performing laptops are provided to employees. - Aside from your actual job in the company, you are also expected to contribute to other internal projects, and to pass algorithm exams. If you’re not performing at these 2, it will be taken against you in your performance review.
