Pros

Benefits are amazing. Somewhat of a work/life balance depending on how committed you are to your work. Front line managers are amazing. Flexibility of PTO usage is good. Access to valuable resources that will help you in your future.

Cons

Wow. Where do I start. This company was completely different two years ago. When I initially joined the company, the work culture was impeccable. The leadership that was in place was unbelievably amazing as well as my team. They understood what it took to maintain positive attitudes of your employees and what was required to retain customers. Fast forward to when that leadership team departed and new leadership stepped in, the morale was nonexistent. No one felt secure in their position. Everyone took on double the workload without even one discussion about an increase in compensation for it. The job description changed in spirit because we took on way more responsibility than we signed up for. Way more but because the team was so passionate, we stayed loyal and just performed to the best of our ability. Training became comical because ELT really didn’t understand what we really needed to help our customers. Training was completely irrelevant to our day to day interactions with customers. The new VP seemed so disconnected from the team and was very condescending in every meeting. It was evident he was there to just perform all the layoffs. The product itself has major areas of opportunity and it feels like they weren’t really listening to the customers needs of what would make the platform more desirable to stick with. This company is all about the money honestly. I get it but good business owners can take a step back and see this is poor leadership in place who has no idea how to run a good business. The inconsistencies are unbearable. The company is very much unstructured. The stock sucks. Customers aren’t happy because you aren’t addressing their issues nor are you producing the ideal product for businesses. There’s no room for career advancement either.

Pros

Health insurance was great in USA. Most coworkers are driven and intelligent. Work was generally challenging. This is a good place to get experience in the industry as an individual contributor and build the chops to move on.

Cons

SCWX announced it's first ever profitable quarter...after laying off over 25% of their work force in the preceding months. I always sort had the nagging idea that the company existed purely as a business loss offset on Michael Dell's personal balance sheet for tax purposes. He owns 80% of the company stock. There is no equity incentive for employees. In my nearly nine years at the company we only exceeded budget target percentage once. (Don't worry, SCWX also applies an arcane personal modifier so they can be sure to adjust that payout down as needed, don't want to reward 'em too much) The biggest red flag I would wave at this point is the constant turnover in Sales, Marketing, and People executive leadership. This means: 1) The product doesn't sell; 2) There's no way to position it compellingly; 3) The company doesn't value it's people.
