Pros

The pay is solid. The company is large enough that it cares about DEI and acts on it. Quality of life varies between managers.

Cons

It’s possible to be in a position where a manager can make your life difficult. I also found moving teams at slack fairly difficult, it felt as difficult as applying for a whole new job. It seems like the culture changed a bit after the layoffs. Quality of life highly depends on team.

Pros

Slack has an amazing culture with very accepting, understanding, and nurturing management.

Cons

Slack has been continuously more influenced by Salesforce's management, with an outsizes priority of minimizing costs rather than growing the business. That comes with the territory for a larger, older SaaS company though.
