      Less salary No integrity when salaries are decided. New joinees may be offered bigger salaries than existing employees. Real issues are not addressed and covered by fancy words. If you expecting a fair work place, this is not the place

      Pros

      All the staff is nice Great benefits, supplementary health insurance, supplementary cancer insurance, good work equipment, nice offices (WFH during the pandemic), coffee and snacks delivered home during the pandemic, activities like yoga, relaxation pauses. They care about your mental health, option to buy up to 15% of your after taxes salary into SNPS stocks at a discount (ESPP program, Employee Stock Purchase Plan), worst case scenario stocks are 15% off, best case scenario due to market the market crash, doubling my initial contribution. Annual bonus that amounts to 1 extra monthly salary. My annualized salary after taxes with benefits like a maxed ESPP and spread monthly are just under 2 million CLP. 15 work days vacation.

      Cons

      Could pay more considering the employee level of performance (I'm certainly not near the best) and the overall expectations when the US based teammates earn 3x your salary. Engineers poached off by big N companies. Global extra benefits (such as days off) generally do not apply to Chile. In the world you're encouraged to take the day off, in Chile you're encouraged to spend one of your days off.

      Site and upper management ruins an interesting job

      Pros

      - Depending on the team you may get to work on interesting problems and team members are very open to share knowledge - Non-salary benefits are a nice to have

      Cons

      - Promotion path is very slow, it seems they are outdated on the expected career path - Entry salary is decent, but it raises very slowly, making it subpar after a few years of experience - Upper management won't make the important decissions, giving teams that have very bad practices free-reign, affecting the work of other people. Also they bury some attempts on having better things under layers of bureaucracy - Chilean site management is very self-complacent, ignoring any criticism (specially salary concerns) and has a tendency on overstepping into team manager territory. Things that should be resolved in 1:1's tend to transform into talks from the center manager to all of the site empoyees.
