      Pros

      The use of data processing is exploding in the world, and processing with scale matters everywhere. Teradata does processing on scale. Teradata has been changing its products fast enough to overcome the technology competition on the market, our CEO and Product Officer are brilliant technology visionary people. They lead a software factory that is delivering.

      Cons

      The field operates on global scale with lots of discrepancies, inefficiencies and as a result, frustration for execution level. This includes sales and all kind of consulting and delivery roles. Field management is only driven by sales mentality and sales management, which keeps TD in a strict product centric operational maturity.

      Pros

      Good pay...bonus and other benefits...leading edge company on the forefront of BIG data and analytics. great opportunities for advancement. They also are very understanding and supportive of a great balance between work and life and do realize you have a family.

      Cons

      As with any large organization, politics, unfortunately, play a part in the company culture. For example, spinning off as our own corporate entity from NCR gave us an opportunity to fix some of the previous culture's broken processes. Instead of fixing them, we took them lock, stock, and barrel and will "fix them later". That's just a silly management decision and, of course, they still have not been fixed, three years later.

      Pros

      Already in the Big Data market for years. Is integrating Aster Data and Hadoop in the Teradata Unified Data Architecture. Acquired Aprimo (Marketing Management) and eCircle (Marketing Automization) companies. Very well positioned on the market.

      Cons

      Very long sales cycles, but that is typical for this industry sector. Sometimes cost reduction pressure more than needed.
