      Pros

      Steady paycheck, friendly people, a lot of people who’ve been there for a long time.

      Cons

      Slow, technology is old, work is sales and marketing driven with little engineering guidance. Strongly discouraged to not leave negative comments on Glassdoor. Subpar medical plan choices. Aggressively 70s colored open floor plan.

      Stuck-up with no reason to be

      Pros

      Good technical staff. Great technical resources for learning the firm's software products. Senior management tries to align staff around common messages and goals. Work/life balance is generally decent.

      Cons

      Their technology is good, but expensive and highly specialized - there isn't much worth to learning it unless you expect to stay a long time, and given that Hadoop is eating Teradata's lunch Teradata may not have a lot of time left. The sales teams rule the roost - a lucky salesperson that lands one good deal is given license by management to treat tech consultants like dirt.

      Co-workers are nice Fair amount of autonomy if you know what you're doing Changes are being made to some of the old bureaucratic ways

      Cons

      Pay raises are poor - make sure you get a good starting offer Management doesn't seek employee feedback New floor plan completely eliminates any privacy and ability to concentrate and was implemented with no consultation with employees. Evaluations seem irrelevant to what you actually accomplish Little opportunity for advancement
