Pros

Nothing, sweat shop, politics, favoritism

Cons

It was the worst decision of the career to join Home Depot as Software Engineer. The technical leadership here is bully and would use all means to pressurize you. There is clear favoritism in promotions and growth in the team, seen people promoted based on loyalty and not based on what value they add to the team. As a result you will see many incompetent, undeserving people up in the hierarchy. The misery does not stop here, if you raise concern against these issues, then you are painted as villain across the org making sure that your movement across teams is stopped, so you basically are stuck in a team.

Pros

Home Depot (US Remodelers) has nice colored logos

Cons

Company Call itself US Remodelers but it's Home Depot. Company is anything but fair. Worked for almost a year but finally quit because of unfair work practices. The job offers nothing. You literally work free and the company profits. Management is for management. Leads are distributed based on the managers discretion however he is running leads too so be prepared to get a lot of BS leads scheduled very far from home- with no milage compensation- averaging 10-13 hrs a day. Product is sold at a much higher price than store but customer is lead to believe that its the same price at store. In training we are taught to say the same fair market pricing for what ever store you go in to but pricing vary region for region. Product is way over priced, averaging 10k to 20k a home for particle pressboard doors and plastic venure. When I worked for the company, management would call customer after your one sit sale and offer a 10% discount lower than what you could offer. If sold you would only receive half the commission is the boss thought it prudent- never saw any of that commission. Never knew until late in the game that the boss was calling customers to get the sale. I found out only when I went back to a customer who told me to come back the next day.
