Beware!

Pros

Great Snacks in the pantry

Cons

For all the talk of flat hierarchy, there is in fact an actual hierarchy that does exist. People who suck up to the people on the board seem to get away with being poor workers while the rest have to pick up the slack. Leadership here is largely inexperienced led by Wen Shun, with poor decision-making skills due to them thinking they know everything! If you question anything, you are frequently told that is the "ThoughtWorks way" without giving any clear answer as to what is the ThoughtWorks way. Beware of ever complaining about anybody to People Team because they will usually tell you to ignore it rather than addressing the situation, especially if it is someone who has some sort of influence in the company. Accountability in this company is non-existent along with career progression. So if you want to join the company, be aware of all these things. I have seen ar too many great colleagues leave after being frustrated with how things are run and being pushed around like a ping pong when they try to change things

Reality check

Pros

- Some very smart engineers to learn from - Some of the clients are interesting

Cons

- Cult like management, Client Leadership Teams (CLT) - Promotions and pay increases are mutually exclusive, you are better off getting promoted with a raise elsewhere - 100% beholden to client's ways of working, belief system. Engagements feel like staff augmentation. - So much lip service about DEI, harmony, inclusion, etc but it's a publicly traded company trying to make money. They will, and have, furlough you, belittle you, lay you off in an instant.
