Management is strictly running the company by looking at key numbers, then manipulating other numbers to make the tracked number appear better. This gives a false sense of what the company is actually trying to achieve in the first place, and overall makes all the statistics unreliable.
UPS management has taken the stance that it's hourly employees should have no knowledge outside of their immediate skills needed to do the job, thereby making employees, representatives of UPS, appear to have no knowledge of the company and it's operations to the general public. Hourly employees are constantly threatened and beaten down, supposedly to maintain an adversarial work environment, which alienates employees from wanting to dork harder for UPS.
