Pros

One of the most financially stable companies in the world to work for. They really take doing the most with the minimum to extremes. This is very important in todays ultra competitive economy. Just be ready to WORK, WORK, WORK! There are NO easy jobs at UPS.

Cons

They can be a little behind on newer technologies which makes an employees life safer and easier. (I.E. Power steering for drivers, hoists for mechanics, etc...)

Pros

UPS has an average compensation package for both part time and full time employees. No place is 100% safe but UPS also has pretty good job security especially for its union employees. In may jobs you are lucky to get a raise at all but at UPS you can always count on the 3%+ every year at the same time. They also have college tuition reimbursment for those looking to continue their education. UPS is especially great for women and minorities. They have MANY oportunities for advancement for both.

Cons

Depending upon the department you work for you may not get much family time. Many of the supervising jobs require MANY hours (60+ hours).

Pros

With 20 plus years at UPS I am 'grandfathered' into the old pay scale which is average in todays work place. Medical benefits have decreased and are average. Getting time off for personal reasons is usually not an issue.

Cons

Stress levels are high. Senior management under pressure to "improve on the numbers". This all rolls down hill to whom ever is in it's path. Supervisor morale is low. If you're a while male, forget about being promoted past the first level. (Although it stll has the flavor of a good ol' boys club!) If you don't have a family or can handle stress well.....then check it out.
