Pros

Company wise, - good benefits (discount, support from HR for personal issues etc). Company as a whole is good.

Cons

Poor management team at this branch. Makes the brand look extremely bad. Worked at a previous branch before and never experienced such appalling treatment towards their own staff, especially new starters. If they don't like you, they will use whatever they can against you. Disgusting branch and really makes the company look bad.

Pros

Not that I came across. Besides obviously the discount that was mentioned.

Cons

On my first day - left in a office for 8hrs to do “training” had to call the manager to ask if I could go on break. Wasn’t shown the shopfloor until the end of the training. No one knew what was going on it seemed. The “manager” didn’t even know what shift I was meant to do the next day? Terrible experience working at Waitrose.

Pros

only the discount and made lovely friends with colleagues (apart from management)

Cons

I really have no idea where to start if I’m honest. Not only are the majority of customers incredibly degrading and rude, but management do not offer any support and when you tell a customer you cannot do something (when you have been told by management) they hurl you abuse and managers will give into them making you look like a fool. Not only this, but management is very disorganised, plays favourites and very unsympathetic about any other commitments or illnesses! I was very poorly over Christmas last year and wasn’t once wished ‘get better’ even when my sister had a kidney infection and I had to call an ambulance for her all managers cared about was when I was going to be able to come in for my shift. Worst place to work in my opinion (and majority of people in my store who have left and complained) but nothing’s done! IN NEED OF SERIOUS SHAPING UP! They also throw so much food waste away it’s disgraceful. No wonder their profits are down. Not only this but a lot of customer dislike management too as they are also very rude to customers! I was once a loyal shopper before I became a ‘partner’ but I refuse to contribute any longer despite leaving over a year ago.

Thank you for taking time to post your feedback. I am very sorry to read your comments. These will be passed onto the branch for review. Please be assured that the Partnership takes all feedback seriously. At Waitrose & Partners we work hard to predict how much food we will need and consistently monitor buying habits to make sure that the products on our shelves are those customers want. We are taking part in various initiatives to reduce food waste, including signing up to the voluntary Courtauld Agreement which aims to slash food waste by a fifth by 20205. We also look for local organisations such as charity or social enterprise so that we can donate surplus food that is still good to eat. Through this, in 2017, we distributed over £2.1 million of fresh stock to local charities and good causes. I hope both you and your sister are fully recovered and wish you success in the future.
