Pros

benefits salary and flexebility ability to work multiple locations...the company is not going to disappear anytime soon so you have more job security as well....The stock prices are holding up alright in comparison to the rest of the market... people will always need medicine even in a recession period like we are in now......Once you get certified you can become a senior technician and get a small raise

Cons

hours are being cut...you are on your feet the entire shift...after senior technician the only promotion you could get is if you have a pharm d. and become a pharmacist

Pros

Working on the floor or as a store manager at Walgreen's has a few main benefits. First, there are stores all over the united states so no matter where you live there is a store near by. Walgreen's is also very good bout working at multiple store locations, although the assistant managers get relocated one time a year or so. I have worked at multiple stores, one of which had a very good store manager, all of the store workers liked him and did not mind working hard for him and did so, if your store has good managers it can be somewhat enjoyable.

Cons

The worst thing about working in a Walgreen's either as a floor worker or as an assistant manager are the hours. usually you will have to work either from 7:30 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon or noon to about 11 pm. Walgreen's are open everyday and most employees are required one of thanksgiving, christmas or new years. i worked at one store where the manager was not well liked by the rest of the workers, which makes working there unpleasant as it was always a topic of conversation, this is true for both store managers and assistant managers.
