Pros

Learned a lot about "What not to do by doing them"..how to skip accountability, how to show off to senior management, how to blame others for our team or my mistakes, how to turn a good product into a sub standard one, how to ignore process, how to put pressure on people for no reason, how to turn events from bad to worse, how to jump on people and get the work done. If you don't care about your self respect, work life balance and to learn more about "what not to do", don't look anywhere else, this place is for you.

Cons

There are bunch of Senior Managers in engineering doesn't know a bit on what they do and what their subordinates wants to do, just instructions absent directions. Every damn people run their own shows treating other teams as their arch rivals. One of the worst communication between teams ever, "do what is asked to do, don't even think about asking questions". No innovations they just copy paste ideas from other pioneers. The core engineering people whom happens to be working since stone ages think themselves as smart, intellect and show blind eyes to other ideas. If you want to experience full hands on with modern day slavery (with pay) this is the place for you.

Temp Employment Not Worth It

Pros

As a temp. employee, I got almost full-time hours each week.

Cons

Hired as a Temporary Employee, I worked nearly full-time hours from the first week I was hired; I completed all of the training and was placed on the front-end within a couple of days. However, Walmart's policies about benefits, full-time employment incentives, etc. kick-in after you've been there for 90 days. Everything from your health care options to even your Walmart store discount card are not valid until after the initial 90 days. I have more than adequate customer service and management experience; I looked at this initial position as a way to move up within the company. Every member of management I spoke with agreed that promotions, further training and momentum within the company itself were all in my future. I had been employed there for 87 days, when I was called back to the office and told " Walmart has elected to end your temporary assignment". No other reason was given, even when I asked. It was in the middle of my shift, in the middle of the work week and I was on the schedule at almost full-time hours for the next two weeks to come. The CSMs on the front end were blind-sided as well and suddenly had to find cashiers available to cover my shifts without going into overtime. It was not fun for anyone! I am convinced given that I was obviously an asset to the store and based on my observation of other new hire employees, the practice of hiring new people and working them as though they are full-time

Pros

Work life balance is great. So great in fact that it seems to be the place where people lacking in career ambition go and collect a paycheck

Cons

People hide behind the "respect for the individual" whenever someone challenges questionable statements or ideas. Bad idea's are allowed to proceed far to long and go un-checked behind this premise Legacy employees stifle innovation. Mid and Senior leadership team is heavily based on tenure which means that anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to jump ship earlier to a bigger and better opportunity is around to try and do more of the same stuff over and over. Additionally, high performers with great potential hit a much earlier ceiling than their talent dictates due to the mid level of tenure driver leadership who haven't done enough or possess enough talent to go elsewhere
