Takes a long time to get promoted and lack of transparency on promotion of co workers, top heavy management and bureaucratic

Pros

Salary & benefits are better than for comparable jobs in the private sector

Cons

The environment is regulated with lot's of politics involved... Brain drain, hard to keep out with skills that are needed on the outside, the bank tends to "suck you in" and then you become specialized in a specific field which might not be easily transferable to the outside.
