Chat what we thinking!?
Dear younger creatives: You don’t need to be funny or quirky on LinkedIn to get a job. I promise.
Go ahead and have fun with this one, but looking for real answers too. ‘Older’ creative here; my husband and I are starting to downsize.. close to retirement. Tossing stuff, donating, selling. But I’m stuck at a box of heavy awards. My first couple of Cannes lions, some one-show pencils, a slew of metal local awards. Too useless to donate. Too meaningless to sell. Too sentimental to toss. Scrap metal value? Melt down into coins and give the homeless? Serious though? What would you do?
For those of you who jumped and went brand side, did you pay to have your resume ATS optimized? If so, what did you pay? I'm being courted by a major brand, but being told that my ad agency resume needs to be ATS optimized to move forward.
To all the recent grads just starting your careers and feeling like you don’t have much to contribute, please make a copy of this and put it somewhere you can see it. It’s a bit corny but so true and effective and will work for you your entire career. Anyone else agree?
Are CDs the new ACDs? I’ve always heard that ACD is the only (and worst) job that’s responsible for both doing/leading, but I’ve worked at multiple agencies now where CDs are primarily just a super senior creative team that works on briefs and occasionally leads juniors on lower stakes projects. And at the same time, I’ve almost never seen ACD teams actually responsible for creative directing others on anything… Job title inflation? Or are my agencies just weird?
It’s a short term thing for their 20th anniversary, matching their look for their Party of the Year “wrapped” thing… not a big deal?
Hahaha no lol I’d love to work on Spotify tho
It’s cute! And for all those upset, it really isn’t that deep lol
“Graphic design is my passion.”
“Hey ChatGPT, make the logo pop.”
Needs more cowbell
You’re talking about it, aren’t ya?
Maybe I’m too young and don’t know enough about disco culture. Does a 20 yr anniversary have anything to do with disco?
Honestly think it’s sort of brilliant because I noticed it immediately after it updated on my phone and everyone seems to be talking about it. Aesthetically do I like it though? Not really lol
It’s fun and people just like to hate
THIS. I personally kinda love it. Is it "good design" by the book? Maybe not. But it’s literally for their birthday. It’s a fun disco ball. It’s temporary. And honestly, I respect the swing because most brands would never dare to mess with their app icon like this. The goal wasn’t to win a design award. It was to cut through the noise. Mission accomplished, clearly.
It’s a temporary logo for 20 years Spotify
A hard launch for something

Who cares
That’s how I feel about a vast majority of the stuff we produce every day.
