Recently I went for an EA role and got positive feedback from the first stage. In the chemistry chat with the exec, I was asked about my long-term goals. I said I love being an EA but would like to grow into a Chief of Staff or operational lead role over time. I was later told they went with someone else as I seemed “too ambitious” and might get bored. It feels ridiculous to be not hired for wanting to grow within a company, to me that’s a green flag, not a red flag. Has this happened to anyone?

Good afternoon, I'm curious how many of you like myself feel lost after posting here. I do not seem to receive feedback to many of my posts. A lost of us are seeking to hear from others who presently work at organizations to get feedback on culture, pay, benefits etc. and it seems many posts go unanswered. I imagine this a very large base of individuals for this bowl so I would hope others would share and respond. Thank you.

Question/advice: If you landed a job with decent pay & benefits, however role has no growth potential & not much to do overall. (Boring & not motivating) But came across opportunities to go back to a former employer that will offer similar or better salary & to be of more value & have growth, travel in the role..Would you return to former company?! Also experience w/former employer was great-but original role was phased out due to re-org.

Friends. Desperately looking to connect with someone who works at Apollo in New York. Or can connect me with somebody who does. I wanna talk to them about what it’s like there before I accept a position. I feel like the base salary they offer is quite low, but my recruiter keeps going on and on about the built-in overtime and how people often end up making double their salary because of this. I need to learn more about this before I accept an offer and make a mistake. Anyone have any insight?

Lost my job in Jan, garden leave thru Mar, then six months’ severance. I’ve been job‑hunting nonstop and have a quick interview today for a 12–16-wk temp role. I’m anxious it could affect unemployment later if needed. Never temped before, and I worry about needing time off for interviews or getting a perm offer mid‑assignment. I care too much about pissing off company. Its not thru a temp agency. It's direct temp hire to fill in for someone out.
