Struggling to decide whether to return to MBB post MBA or join a startup where I’d do interesting work and have a great senior title with lots of responsibility. Comp is nearly identical with equity at the startup that could be very meaningful, but I’m afraid of the risk vs. stability of MBB — how would you think through this?

Do y’all wait to notify your current job until the new job’s background check is completed and you receive your official start date? Or do you go ahead and notify them and give your two weeks when you sign a written offer letter?
