Tips for final round interview with non-lawyer executives?
To those who work in hybrid setting, when do you get to the office and leave?
How much does company brand or reputation matter for your first in-house role, similar to how law firm recruiting often places value on joining a V10 firm? For someone interested in securities work, is there a meaningful long-term advantage to starting at a FAANG company (or similar) versus a mid-cap company? Does the FAANG name tend to open more doors later on, or do employers care more about the substance of the experience and responsibilities you had in the role?
For professional services agreements, does legal usually draft SOWs? We received 22 page long SOW from the vendor, some AI generated gibberish, not drafted by their legal team. The project is 6 months long custom software configuration for us. I am not sure how to review this SOW. What do I do with this SOW. Deliverables all hidden throughout this 22 page document. I don’t want to tear down their ugly baby (SOW) to make it appropriate for SOW.
Legal Counsel at Apple. Do they ever hire in-house counsel that aren't ex big law? any personal examples of someone that has been hired from a mid-law shop? Alternatively, advise for the best means to get in-house somewhere like this when you have been doing commercial litigation (i.e., no in house experience yet)?
Anyone else legitimately like what they do? I feel like it’s a crapshoot with in house counsel roles (and legal work in general), but more often than not I’m happy with my career. Who else feels the same, and what do you do?
They’re usually pretty conversational. They want to get a sense that you’re pleasant to work with more than trying to test your legal acumen. I’d try to have a decent understanding of industry jargon before going in.
To echo and add to this I would demonstrate interest in the industry and business itself
General Msg: You want to be a partner. You dont want to be the department of No. You want offer clear guidance, be consistent, and reliable.
but dont be afraid to say no when the business rides the line, especially in this age of AI. you just need reasoned points grounded in law and business
Mock lawyers and “the department of no.”

I just took one class, so definitely not qualified for that opinion. Will stick with law lol.
