
McDonald’s Österreich betreibt aktuell rund 200 Restaurants und beschäftigt 9.600 Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter aus 92 Nationen. Der Systemgastronomie-Marktführer nimmt seine gesellschaftliche, ökologische und ökonomische Verantwortung wahr und bezieht als größter Gastronomie-Partner der heimischen Landwirtschaft bereits heute rund 70% der für das gesamte Produktsortiment verwendeten Rohstoffe aus Österreich. Dieser Anteil wird laufend gesteigert. Auch im Bereich Umweltschutz und Recycling werden konkrete Ziele verfolgt: Neben der kontinuierlichen Reduktion der CO₂-Emissionen werden Abfälle in jedem österreichischen McDonald’s Restaurant gesammelt, getrennt und im Anschluss zu über 90% wiederverwertet. Dabei wird auch heuer der Anteil an Verpackungen aus Papier und Karton von derzeit 91% durch neue Verpackungslösungen weiter erhöht. Bis 2025 werden 100% aller Gästeverpackungen aus erneuerbaren, recycelten oder zertifizierten Quellen stammen.
