Position: Incident Manager
Experience: Negative
Outcome: No response after second round
I recently interviewed for the Incident Manager position.
The first round was short (about 15 minutes) and went well. It focused on my experience and understanding of the role.
The second round, however, was quite disappointing. The interviewer, a very senior person in the company, did not turn on his video even though candidates are expected to keep theirs on. This created an uncomfortable and one sided dynamic. It felt impersonal and made it difficult to connect or read any reactions during the conversation.
The discussion itself was largely around the incident management process, and I was able to answer all questions confidently. Toward the end, the interviewer mentioned that “you will have to work outside of office hours, and we already have three people who recently left.” That comment did not inspire much confidence about the team culture or work life balance.
He said HR would call me for next steps, but there was no follow up at all.
Overall, while the technical part of the interview was fair, the lack of professionalism, especially the video off approach from the interviewer and the zero follow up afterward, made the experience uncomfortable and disappointing
