I applied via indeed and was offered an interview with the Area Manager. This was an inexperienced very young area manager with little to no experience in retail. This made me feel very awkward as was being assessed against experiences and knowledge he practically knew nothing about personally. An interview with the Store Manager would have been better. The interview was quite amateur in that I was not asked a single situational question to describe what I can do. It was just a rundown of my CV.
I was however then offered a second interview with the Director at the offices in Swindon which was quite a trip for me. This again was very short. It was not that professional or tasking. Again it was a chat about my CV and my experience. At neither interview did I feel properly challenged or assessed from my previous experience. I felt they were only looking for previous experience running a store of the same size rather than anything else.
