I applied in-person. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Rochester, NY) in Jun 2014
Interview
Easy interview with store manager and waited for a call back. That same day got a call back for a second interview with district manager. Long hiring process took 3 weeks just to start working. Easy interviews ask about previous jobs and what you like and didn't and why you quit.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at ALDI (Saint Louis, MO) in Feb 2012
Interview
three interviews. First with DM, second with store manager, then with DM again. I have heard in the past that the only ways to acquire a position within the company are through employee referral or at one of their 'hiring events'. I found that this is true. They get applications all the time from walk-ins.
