Interview
These are the questions to the video interview with Aldi, the time to answer was actually different for me. Some of the below questions which stipulate 60 seconds to answer turned out to be 30 seconds and the 90 second answers turned out to be 60 seconds so bear that in mind.
1. Before we start, please could you confirm your name and location? 30 seconds to answer.
2. Please could you briefly introduce yourself? We are interested to hear where you live, where and what you studied and what you are doing now. 90 seconds to answer.
3. Please tell us why are you interested in working for Aldi? 60 seconds to answer.
4. What is an interesting thing that you have found about whilst researching for the company? This could be drawn from your research or from your experience while visiting an Aldi store. 60 seconds to answer.
5. What do you think you would be doing during the short, medium and long term of the Area Manager Training Program? 90 seconds to answer.
6. Why do you think you will be suited to this role? 60 seconds to answer.
7. Can you recall a specific situation where your drive and motivation helped you achieve an ambitious outcome? Please ensure that you cover the specific situation, how you motivated yourself, the outcome. 90 seconds to answer.
8. The answer to this and the next question should centre on a single example. Can you please provide us with an example of a high standard you have set for yourself and achieved? Please cover what the standard was, why you decided to set this standard. 90 seconds to answer
9. What steps did you take to ensure that this high standard was achieved? 60 seconds to answer.

Question 1
4. What is an interesting thing that you have found about whilst researching for the company?
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI
Interview
Psychometric and situational judgement tests to start with. You can't realy prepare for these, just answer them honestly and think about what the main company values are.
Next it's the written application. There are a number of questions at this stage, mainly about your previous experiences, why you want to work at Aldi and why you'd be good for the job.
After that it's a video interview where you're given 9 questions in total, each question you have 30 seconds to prepare an answer for and then usually 30 to 60 seconds to record your answer. You only get one attempt for each question so prepare well for them. Make sure you have examples to hand of times where you've worked in or led teams, when you've overcome challenges and shown determination etc.
If you're successful after this stage then you get invited for a group assessment centre. At mine there were around 10 candidates. You have to do a store walk beforehand and then do a presentation on a topic. You're given 10 minutes to prepare for it and then you have to do a 3 minute presentation. After that you're given a task to complete as a group. Here remember to look at what the task brief says and work with your team mates to produce a productive outcome. There were also some standard maths and verbal reasoning tests before the assessment centre as well.
If you're successful in the group stage then you'll be asked to complete a final interview with the regional managing director, this might be on the same day or you might be called back at a later date to do it. This is just a normal job interview so prepare for the normal sorts of quesions. Ultimatley if you've got this far you've shown all the necessary skills and attributes to do the job, this is just to see whether you will get on with the MD (ie. can he/she imagine working with you).
Finally if you are successful at the interview you'll recieve a job offer.
The interview process consisted of an initial application, where you filled out details about yourself and grades etc. Then you have an online situational judgement test, maths and verbal reasoning. After this, you have an online interview which has 10 questions relating to you and the company ethos and values. If you complete and are successful you are invited to a group assessment day, where they will test you on products as well as general knowledge on the store etc. Got through to final round interview, but was unsuccessful.
