I applied through college or university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ALDI (Salisbury, NC) in Mar 2016
Interview
I did not attend the mandatory dinner but was able to get in for an on-campus interview. First interview is behavioral and the second interview takes place over the better part of an entire day. You tour a division's headquarters and meet current district managers as well as the division directors. There is an informal lunch with everyone from the office and it appears that they are looking for people who are engaging eager. They talk about the difficulties of the position, lots of "putting out fires." The district managers do lots of little tasks and are jacks of all traits. I think they are looking for people who really want a long-term career with Aldi in particular and for people who are high energy with high aptitude and with excellent interpersonal skills and conflict resolution.
Answer questions clearly and concisely - do not ramble.
