I got a 1:1 interview with Aldi through my school's career fair. The night before the interview we had a dinner with 3 Aldi reps where we got to know a little more about the company and got to ask questions in an informal situation. After the dinner, a 1:1 interview was conducted. I got along with the guy so I moved on to another interview at the headquarters. The interview was supposed to be scheduled during my spring break, but I had plans, so I think that threw them off and made them think I wasn't interested. When I rescheduled they seemed to just be interviewing me as a nice gesture. It ended up being a waste of time as they rushed me through the process and out the door I went. Received a thank you, but no thank you letter in the mail a week after.
