I applied online. I interviewed at AMD (Markham, ON) in Mar 2019
Interview
Interviewers were cordial and respectful.
Nothing seemed to have gone wrong and I answered 90% of the questions correctly.
I generally dont form any expectations post interviews but for this one I was hopeful as I did not see anything that might have gone wrong during the long non stop group panel interview. They also introduced me to the team.
I waited for a response for a week.
As there was no response, I sent a follow up email to the HR who sent me interview invite and also to one of the interviewers.
There has been no response from AMD after this.
No feedback. No call.
I did not expect this from a big company like AMD.
Such kind of behaviour of HR leaves a bad taste forever.
No point in sending another follow up to such teams who do not value your time and energy.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Interview questions were 75% technical embedded concepts and rest of them were more about the personality , attitude on how you will handle certain scenarios, experiences from the past. Challenges faced during different projects in the past.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at AMD
Interview
Submitted resume online, Phone screen by hr, then technical interview with managers. Interview is 2 hr long with manager and technical lead. Received offer after 2 days and started working in 1 week.
Interview was for Physical Design co-op position. Interview took 3 hours, split into hour-long blocks. The first and second blocks were with engineers from my prospective team. The questions were mostly technical with some occasional personal questions. I was asked about circuits, Boolean logic, sequential and combinational logic, and programming. The questions weren’t particularly challenging, but clearly communicating your train of thought is key. The final block was lunch with a senior engineer.
