I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at AMD (Boxborough, MA) in Nov 2018
Interview
2 rounds of phone interviews followed by an onsite interview consisting of 6 rounds. Onsite interviews were interactive and pretty open-ended. The interviewers were looking for optimizations and ideas from the discussions rather than cut to the point answers.

I applied online and was then reached by hiring manager. It was for testing role. He asked questions related to programming. It was not prepared well, it was an impromptu interview.
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at AMD (Waterloo, ON) in Oct 2015
Interview
It was for an intern position, the application was submitted to the university system which resulted in a 1 on 1 interview on campus. The entire interview was 30 minutes.
