I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at AMD
Interview
A phone interview testing my basic understanding of fundamentals. Testing my experience in a range of things, like schematics, transistor behaviour under different conditions, setup, hold time problems, power grid related questions.
There was an initial phone interview to screen out applications. At the end of the second call, they set up a full day interview with 5-6 people. Within a couple of days I heard feedback that I had been selected for the job. I started about a month later.

I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at AMD (Austin, TX) in Aug 2018
Interview
HR/Phone/In Person- This mos more about incompetent HR leadership who does not monitor hiring process. No one there is overly qualified so these in-depth interviewsnwith less qualifies people is unnecessary and so typically “Austin”. Rude and inconsiderate processes that makes candidates think that that are unimportant and unvalued. It’s not rocket science nor is it that expensive to hire the “wrong” person. There is no such thing. “Stick and move” as they say. Just plain incompetence. I chose another position that made me feel appreciated and valued.
