Filled out questionnaire online , then next day I received a call to go to an assessment , it wasn't until I googled that I found out what It was and I became nervous as it's my idea of hell, group interviews etc I even lost sleep worrying. I did go though and once I'd realised we were all in the same boat (about 25 of us, all ages) I began to relax. There were about four assessors watching us with clip boards , First task was to pick a letter of the alphabet and then think of a tree , we had to arrange ourselves into alphabetical order and say why we chose that tree and why we want to work for Asda . Second task: we were split into fours and we had to make a tower out of three pages of newspaper , straws ,sellotape and a ballon. We were then taken on the shop floor by our assessor and we were given the task to look for autumnal things , how we would change them and is there anything missing what would make it better. After that we were took back to fill out flexibility forms , we were asked what hours we could do and tick the boxes of what jobs we would like , all this took two hours and I'll be honest not as bad as I thought , the time flew by and our assessor was lovely , he really helped us if he thought me missed points out of the tasks . If I could give you tips , If like me you are worried about things like this , it's not as bad as it's sounds it's quite fun , smile a lot , and look interested , I was watching some candidates and they looked so bored to be there , so the assessors must've noticed too ! Don't be a wall flower , talk loud so they can hear you are trying in group tasks , it's easy to not get noticed with other loud talkers , just have fun , what do you have to lose
