I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at ASDA (Liverpool, England) in Feb 2024
Interview
The interview I attended felt more like a chat rather than an interview. Unlike other reviews where people described a group-like enviornment, my interview was a one-on-one with the Security Manager who explained to me the necessities for the role, explained the basic day-to-day activities of an in-house security officer, and also explained the shift patterns. Not many questions were asked at the interview hence why I describe it as more of a chat, in total I was asked about 3 questions which were the essentials. Any criminal convictions. My age. Alongside basic comfort questions about whether I would be comfortable dealing with individuals who I may know, especially since I live quite local to the store, and dealing with individuals who may turn violent.
Violence against Security Guards in ASDA stores is quite common, do you feel comfortable dealing with people who may turn violent and are you comfortable stepping back from situations when it is necessary to protect yourself and your colleagues?
