I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ASDA (Bristol, England) in Jun 2018
Interview
After I sent my application I received a call from the store manager for a face to face interview.
Surprisingly when I arrived in store, nobody expected me!
After 20 mins delay I was interviewed from the store manager, where I realized that she wanted me to work as a sales assistant instead as a checkout operator, as it was advertised!
Very unprofessional, so I made clear that I am interest only for the job I applied for.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (London, England) in Oct 2018
Interview
Applied online. Completed an online assessment with multiple choice type answers which is mostly customer service based questions . Received an email a few days later inviting me to an Asda Magic group interview. This was a very relaxed and fun event which lasted around 1 hour. This event was observed by 4 Asda managers who made notes about each person, (remember to keep smiling and have fun... That's very important to this session). The first task was to interview the person next to you for about 10 minutes and then introduce the person to the group. Pens and paper are available for you to take notes.
The second task was to sell an item to the groups and managers. We were split into teams of three for this. These items were given out randomly to the teams, and were all things you would find in the grocery section for example, honey, mayonnaise, chick peas etc. The teams found factual and fun ways to sell each item.
After this you are given a form to fill in with the chosen department and your shift availability. We were then told about the store and what you could expect working for asda including benefits and discount schemes etc.
We were thanked for attending and told we should hear something with two weeks as there were more Asda Magic sessions scheduled until then .
10 days later i received a phone call inviting me to attend a one to one interview with one of the department managers.
This was a very relaxed interview with just a few basic customer service based questions and a general chat and get to know you. This lasted around 20 minutes and I was told that another Asda Magic session was scheduled and that I would hear back after that had been completed which would be in around 8 days. Job offer received after 7 days

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at ASDA (Dunbar, Scotland) in Oct 2018
Interview
I applied 2 weeks ago via Asda’s webiste by filling out a simple questionare and a few assessment questions. Got an email 2 days later than ive been invited to Asda Magic and to bring Proof of Working in UK. Went there there were 7 other people , first we did introductions then they scan my Proof to work document and later we went to the shop floor where we were paired in groups of 2. They asked us to spend 10-15minutes on each section (Kiosk, Self checkout counter and cashier checkout) they were keeping an eye on us and observing us how we were interacting with the costumers. Once we were done with that they did one on one interview the same day and told us to go home. After 2 days they call me informing me that ive been successful.
