I applied online. I interviewed at ASDA (Tiptree, England) in Jun 2017
Interview
I applied online on Asda recruitment website and it took me through a few situational online question to see if i was potential employee for asda. after that, i got an email saying that they want to invite me to interview called 'Asda Magic' which is very different from 1:1 interview! On that day, i went to the store, signed in and got my name badge, there was me and 5 others - we were led to the room by HR Admin. She wanted us to talk to the person next to us and find out more about each other. There was then a group work, we did a activities where we would be on stranded island and what items we can take with us. We were taken onto shop floor and assigned us to aisle number and did some restocking and replenishing. i was taken into interview room and i was with store manager, it felt so relaxed! - i felt like that we become friends! he said that asda will text me on Monday to see if i was offered a job or not. On Monday i received a text from them saying that i have been offered! i will be starting in few days
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
No questions, just pretty much asked about my adaption, and culture with some interview question like... my availability etc
I applied online. I interviewed at ASDA in Aug 2013
Interview
Invited for a 'magic' group interview where we were gven group tasks such as build a bridge out of paper. then taken individually in to a room for a 5 min interview that consisted of basic interview questions e.g. are you flexible with hours, where do you see yourself in 5 years etc.
Applied online on Asda's site and was invited to an assessment center about a week and a half later or so. The assessment center is nothing to get nervous about there will be about 20 (well in my case there was) and you split up into groups of 4-5 and play a sort of bingo game. You are all given the bingo sheets with 14 activities on them (have you been on holiday outside the UK etc.) and you have to go round the room and ask everybody who's done what and mark them off, there will be 2 or 3 Asda employees at the back watching everybody to see how you communicate and interact with others. After that we were told to build a capsule for an egg to be dropped from about 2 meters so that the egg didn't break. One of you then has to stand up and demonstrate the product (bonus points for being the one to stand up I would say). The whole process took around an hour maybe less. You are then told to wait up to 3 weeks to hear back (I heard back within the same week). You are then invited to a pretty casual interview, 5 quick easy questions and then gave some information about the work. I was then told I would have to wait up to 2 weeks to hear back but I am guessing I will find out sooner either way
