I applied online. I interviewed at ASDA in Sep 2016
Interview
Despite various other reviews on here suggesting an interview based around an activity that tested interviewees ability to work with each other etc. The Asda I was interviewed at (and worked for) did not do this. We had a chance to get to know the other applicants, watched some indoctrinating videos on Asda and then had a (un-assessed) chance to try out working on the shop floor. We then had some one to one interviews. I was asked only one question if I remember correctly. The process wasn't stressful and the staff were all friendly. Post-interview I can honestly say I really enjoyed my time there and never had any complaints about my work. More interviews should skip the group activity aspect it's not a good means of judging an applicants capability (unless you're applying for a highly skilled role).

Group interview. All given tasks to work as a team. One was "how would you turn this bin bag in to something you could sell".
Then taken for individual interviews which were quite informal.
