I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (Redditch, England) in May 2018
Interview
Was invited over email to an Asda Magic day. Started off slow, as I was stuck in a room with a bunch of people also waiting for it to start for about half an hour before we were actually told anything. Also those who did not have a form of right to work were turned away.
Once it began we were all taken into a room and sat around a table. We did a general icebreaker activity in which we had to ask the person we were sat next to what two items they'd take to the moon, why they like Asda etc. and report back. We then had an activity with the person we were next to and had to pick 4/6 promotions we would put in store for the summer based on the local area and why. We were then split in half and one half went for one on one interviews whilst the others were put into another group and had to do an activity with lego. We were shown a lego model of a bird-type animal which was then hidden. One person had to go up at a time to look at it, come back and describe how to build it without touching it. Throughout the entire group process you were being watched by 4-5 members of the management team who I assume were rating your performance.
They then got you all to fill out a flexibility questionnaire. Although I applied for specific jobs online, they treated you as unassigned and gave you the option to tick which specific jobs you'd be interested in, what your availability is and how many hours you are looking for.
The solo interview was quite informal but I think the questions asked depended on the interviewer as I had better questions than another girl I spoke to.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
An example of good customer service you have given. An example of times you have had to deal with a tricky customer. An example of teamwork you have participated in towards a common goal. An example of how you would deal with a fellow team member underperforming. What qualities you think Asda is looking for in its employees.
I applied online. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at ASDA (Edinburgh, Schottland) in Nov 2017
Interview
First there was an online application and test with some questions and cases to solve. It was designed to check if the candidate has an appropriate approach toward customer service. Being successful at this stage I was invited do ASDA Magic event. It was a group interview which aimed to check our personality: if it suits the ASDA type of employee. I was not stressful at all. Positive atmosphere and really nice people who assessed what we were doing. There were different group and team building tasks and each of us was asked to tell something about themselves. It took about an hour and this time passed really quickly. I could recommend such an interview to everyone! :-)
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at ASDA (Ferring, England) in Nov 2017
Interview
I applied online and was invited to an Asda Magic event at the store where the position was approximately 2 weeks later. The Magic event was a pleasant experience and presented by the HR Manager. We were asked to find out certain things from the person sat next to us and afterwards present our findings to the group. During this we were observed by a Manager who made notes as we chatted. We were then asked to go out onto the shop floor with the Manager for 15 minutes. During this time we had to locate "Winter" promotions, speak to colleagues, customers, observe processes and find anything in store that we thought was under par and could be improved. On return to the training room we did a flip chart presentation of our findings to the group. We then completed a form confirming our availability and told what jobs were currently vacant. We also had to give 1st and 2nd choices for positions. We were told that if we were not successful on this occasion we would receive an email from Asda. If we had made it through to the next stage we would receive a phone call from HR. I was phoned just after I got home and invited to an interview next day with a Manager. I was offered a position which was my 2nd choice. The reason for this was the hours that I was available to work best fitted with this position.

Question 1
The questions were fairly general. I answered honestly and logically.
