I interviewed on two separate occasions with the respective hiring managers. There was no recruiter/HR conversation beforehand, only an e-mail with a link to schedule a Zoom call (~30-45 minutes). Both of these invitations occurred within about 1 week from the time of application. Very smooth process up until this point. Where the process fell apart occurred everywhere else. 1) Hiring managers seem socially awkward and seemed to lack actual reimbursement experience to which led to only flaccid questions. Very soft questions about resume experience and absolutely nothing related to reimbursement or problem solving. I would say the majority of what they look for felt like fit - not knowledge or experience. 2) Hiring managers offered to answer any additional questions post-interview and that I could reach out directly to them. Both ghosted upon my follow-up email. 3) HR also ghosted at this point without ever closing the loop on the final decision. I realize this is far from an uncommon occurrence in the industry, but nonetheless something to be aware of especially if you are interviewing other opportunities simultaneously.
