I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at AbbVie in Feb 2019
Interview
Recruiter sources you from career builder and inquired about your interest for a contract role. Recruiter submits your resume. Your resume gets shortlisted for consideration. A phone screen interview is set up. After many selections reviewed, top candidates are called in for onsite interview. Finally, a Panel interview in a conference room, total 9 panelists of team players takes place. Deliberation will be another week or more.
I applied online. I interviewed at AbbVie (North Chicago, IL) in Dec 2018
Interview
Had a phone interview with HR which was all behavioral questions. I didn't hear back for another month about next steps. They finally contacted me and said they want to do a final round on site interview. On the day of the final round, there were three different 30 minute interviews. Two were with current managers in the program and one of them was with HR. All of them asked very similar behavioral questions so it got very repetitive to explain all of my experiences over and over again to each of them. There were no technical questions or case studies, which was nice. The most technical question was asking for more details about technical projects listed on the resume. It is a program that requires some technical skills so they want to hear that you have some experience with technology and problem solving. At the end of the interviews, a current employee in the program takes you out for coffee and answers any questions you may have about the company or the role.

I applied through University's Career Website. The process took me ~2 weeks from time I sent application to the time I got scheduled for an interview on campus. Did not get an email/notification regarding whether or not they were going to hire me; I had to reach out to the recruiters.
