I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Accenture in Nov 2010
Interview
A long process that reached a "dead-end". So many phone calls, a trip to Switzerland paid by the company and a successful personal interview led nowhere in the end. It seems there is poor communication between different business units.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Accenture (Bengaluru) in Dec 2010
Interview
I was invited for an interview, with my profile short listed from a job portal. Initially I overlooked that it was a "Walk-in", and after reaching I was astounded with the swarming crowd at that place. They were somehow managing the crowd, most of the people were waiting since morning till the time I reached (afternoon) for at least one round of interview to get over, either HR or Technical. I was interviewed by an HR first, where she asked general questions, like tell me about yourself, why do you want job change, why Accenture and things like that. She also asked me my expectations and notice period.
After this, 1 had to wait for another hour for Technical round. There also, same question was asked, why change in job. After around 10 mins and 3 basic technical questions asked, interviewer said he is done with his questionnaire. This left me astounded, I was in a fix whether I got selected or not. Usually, if interviewer is willing to recruit, he/she will take longer time in analyzing the candidate. Later on, my name was called for handing over the offer letter...!!! I was pretty amazed with the response.
I was not carrying any of the documents, so I left after taking email id of the HR to whom I had to send the documents. Unfortunately, her mail box was full, but I received email from another HR asking for the documents. I sent the document.
Later, one of the HR called me and said that they can offer max 4.69 package..!! My current CTC is 4.3..!! Where is the industry standard ???
HR was trying to convince me with this offer..!!!
I will advise all other candidates to verify before hand what they will offer to avoid frustration and waste of time. I know Accenture does not pay hefty amounts, but this was absolutely ridiculous offer to make and on top of it, HR trying to convince me to switch..!!!
