This isn't a "pro" "unattended" case, which companies may practice during the selection process, so (1) apply remotely for jobs in Japan only if you're ready to invest days into your application and (2) If you're an experienced candidate - be especially cautious, as there's no guarantee of being interviewed even after the 2nd application. Not sharing of profile information with non-HR staff (until positive feedback is received from HRs) may also help to overcome the pressure.
